Information about Shamin Cares, An Emergency Fund to Help Our Associates

Back in March, Shamin Hotels created Shamin Cares, an emergency fund to help associates in need. The following is from the press release.

In the 40 plus years that Shamin Hotels has been in business, we have always remained dedicated to putting our associates first. Our commitment to safety and security during these trying times has compelled us to examine how to best serve our associates and our communities in the spirit of Hospitality. While our businesses are impacted by the global economic crisis, our unwavering support of our associates remains our top priority. Our goal is to ensure we lend a helping hand to the families and communities to which we are so deeply tied. In alignment with our core value of Hospitality, we are taking steps to help our associates in this time of hardship.

Chester based hotelier and the largest hotelier in Virginia, Shamin Hotels, has established an associate relief fund with an initial $100,000 donation from the company. Aimed at assisting its associates with food and other necessities, this fund will provide immediate cash assistance to associates most in need, when they need it the most.

CEO Neil Amin shares, “Although this is a very difficult time period for Shamin Hotels, we feel it’s important to act quickly and broadly to assist our associates. We want them to know that we are in this together and we will come out of this together.”

In these challenging times, our associates have also stepped up as the community leaders they truly are. Many of our hotels have donated perishable items such as fruits and vegetables to associates in need and our Embassy Suites in Hunt Valley, MD has partnered with 4MyCity in Baltimore, MD to assist their local community with donations of perishable food items.
