Shamin Hotels and The River’s Bend Easement
Labeled a ‘success story’ in the latest Chesapeake Conservation Partnership Report — Shamin Hotels has placed 180 acres at River’s Bend into a conservation easement with Capital Region Land Conservancy to protect the wetlands, James River views, and shoreline from development while keeping the land open to the public for generations.
In addition, the property connects and/or enhances several other nearby conservation efforts including VCU Rice Rivers Center, Dutch Gap Conservation Area, Presquile National Wildlife Refuge, Brown and Williamson Conservation Area and a nearby bald eagle habitat.
